We see this over and over with different users… Using easy passwords to secure their email, website, social media and access to several of their other logins. Researchers at Indiana University have confirmed that stringent password policies actually work.
Requiring longer passwords and creating a truly stringent password policy reduced hacks. Further, the researchers found that preventing users from adding their name or username inside passwords alone is also pretty helpful. Having a stringent password policy is far better than have none at all.
We recommend using a minimum of 15 characters for your passwords including alphanumeric characters and adding some symbols in the mix. This will ultimately help in preventing your accounts from being hacked.
